It's high time for change
There’s no sugar coating it, the statistics around ovarian cancer are pretty scary.
For 1400 Australian women the year 2016 will forever be “the year I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer”.*
And tragically two-thirds of these women—our mums, sisters, daughters, wives and dear friends—aren’t going to make it … and will eventually die from the disease.
These are pretty alarming stats, and they haven’t changed in 15 years.
We think it’s high time for change.
The only way to change these statistics and to give the women we love a brighter future is through investing in research, and that’s where we need your help.
By hosting a Tea for Teal this May or June you can raise funds which will go straight to the research lab, where our dedicated Mater Ovarian Cancer Research Collaborative are already conducting research to increase early diagnoses and raise survival rates.
Hosting a Tea for Teal, and making a real difference for these women, is simple. And how you host your Tea for Teal is completely up to you.
Whether you prefer a fancy high tea with the girls, a sausage rolls and sweets morning tea in your lunch room at work, or a family and friends get together over biscuits and cake, your Tea for Teal will be about so much more than just putting the kettle on.
By hosting a Tea for Teal this May or June you’ll be funding Mater ovarian cancer research projects that could change the outcomes for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
You may even be saving the life of someone you love.
